On Site Wildlife Program
A One hour program consists of the handling and discussion of various species, and may include such animals:
- a 3-Foot Alligator
- Blue-Tongue Skink
- Red-Foot Tortoise
- 8 Inch Marine Toad
- King Snake
- Texas Armadillo
- Madagascar Ringtail Lemur
PEEC
the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PPEC) enhances environmental awareness, knowledge, and appreciation through hands-on experience in a natural outdoor classroom.
PEEC will customize a program to suite your interests. Take an afternoon at their National Park or they will come to Pocmont and we can play in our backyard! Programs range from 1 ½ hours to 3 hours.
Quiet Valley
Quiet Valley Historical Farm is a non-profit, educational corporation dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Pennsylvania's agricultural heritage
Quiet Valley is open to the general public from June 20 to Labor Day and conducts school and special tours in the fall, winter and spring. Period-dressed "family" members reenact the life of the original Pennsylvania German family who lived on the farm from the 1760's to 1913. The farm also hosts a number of special events throughout the year.
Grey Towers
A National Historic Landmark and Pinchot Institute for Conservation
Public programs and guided tours of the mansion introduce visitors to the incredible story this house, Gifford Pinchot and how both helped shape conservation in America. Visitors of all ages enjoy trails, arts and education programs. Guided tours bring the visitor through the restored museum spaces of the first floor of the mansion and through the historic gardens, which includes the Fingerbowl, the Pinchots' unique outdoor dining table.
Callies Candy & Pretzel Factories
The Callie Family extends an invitation to Callie's Candy Kitchen and Callie's Pretzel Factory in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. You can see candy and pretzels made, ask questions, sample free treats, and have fun at both locations. See Soft & Hard Pretzels and Gourmet Flavored Popcorn made. Plus many other party snacks and gifts for you and your friends. Ask about fundraising!
